2018 saw the EPFA Champions Cup return once again to Denmark and the great location in Hou Aarhus. Ireland was againgiven two places at this major European club event, DCU Storm and Midlands United bith hoping to improve on their positions from the same tournament two years ago. DCU Storm's players were Aoife McNicholl, Emer O'Sullivan, Keith Hayes, Patrick Flanagan, Padraic Moran and Naglis Montvilas. Midlands United's players were Thomas Donogher, Sean Donogher, Conor Troy, Sean Cuddy, Thomas Winters and Kevin Gannon.
DCU Storm were drawn into Group A with the hosts Aarhus Rolling Devils, Auch, Northern Thunder and Les Egles de Vevey. Midlands Group B included Grafteaux, Aspire, BSF and FC Inter. In the group stages DCU had experienced both highs and lows with a difficult defeat to the defending champions Auch losing 6-0 to delivering a heavy defeat to the Switzerland representatives Les Egles de Vevey winning 12-0. A very competitve encounter which showed how the Irish club teams were closing the gaps saw Northern Thunder get a 1-0 win over DCU Storm. And DCU Storm achieved a second win in their group with a 1-0 victory over Aarhus Rolling Devils. In the other group Midlands held their own giving both the two perceived stronger teams Grafteaux and Aspire both hard fought games which ended in 3-0 defeats but pride undented in some great individual performances. New comers FC Inter were always going to be on a learning curve and Midlands duly dispatched them 6-0. Midlands completed their group opponents with a 1 - 1 draw with the second Danish team BSF. A derby of derbys would reslut with DCU Storm and Midlands United meeting in the 5th/6th place play-off with DCU Storm coming out on top with a 2-0 win but both clubs had moved up positions from the previous tournaments so overall it was positve progression for both.
