The new AIPF season kicked off in earnest on September 15th in Gormanston Park. Six of the seven teams were in action on the opening day with some lively encounters and some spirited performances from the teams that are trying to close those gaps. Heroes Cork returned home defeated but with the positive return to build on of having scored a goal against DCU Storm and Midlands United. DCU Storm inflicted a heavy defeat on Belfast Trailblazers 8-0 as they warmed themselves up for Denmark. Midlands United took a little while to get firing against Cork but eventually won that encounter comfortably. and followed it up with a defeat of Lightening. Belfast Trailblazers brushed aside the DCU Storm result and got back to winning ways against the Kingdom Rebels. The Kingdom Rebels took the lead against Lightening but after an equalizer they eventually succumbed to a 2-1 defeat. The next round will take place on Saturday 6th October again in Gormanston Park with M and F Utd getting their season underway.
